It will be hard to find a better multiplayer game and its highly addictive pick a copy up for 30 bukz and give it a try please. Dont miss out on this great game!
I tried playing the demo to this game several times and every time it crashed my comp. It looked like it would be fun though.
I tried playing the demo and i couldn't control the .. err robot thingie.. but i am so bored right now maybe i'll check it out again hmm!!
Ok, I've heard scads of stuff about this game. I'ma d/l the demo and give it a whirl.
Edit: I tried it out. It's kinda fun! But it would be better if I had a joystick or something.

I play this game a lot, especially Multiplayer. Hell, I'm even in a clan for it. Definately better with a joystick, otherwise its extremely hard to pilot your 'mech. Try the new edition, just out last week. Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. Its got a much better single player and has 36 'mechs and lots more equipment and weapons to use.
Man, there's a lot of controls in this game. I pulled a Neo when I first fired it up and went into the configuration menu. It was kinda hard to get used to, and I didn't really play it enough to get completely used to it, but I managed to kill an enemy mech or two :)

I'm not to good, but I'm up for a fight sometime.
Mercenaries looks good, but is it an add on or a separate game? I bought the game back when it came out, but didnt really get into multiplayer.

I have been playing MechWarrior since MW3 first came out, it's a really fun game. Microsoft is doing a bang up job on it too.:) I don't use a joystick, I do the good 'ol chase view with mouse and keyboard, and I dare say my AIM is far faster/better than it was with a joystick.

MW4 is a great game, but honestly, I prefer MW2 over it. The graphics aren't as good, but the gameplay feels better. MW4 in cockpit gameplay is, for lack of a better word, "jiggly." MW3 though is solid and direct.
They're both fantastic games though. And as for the joystick, forget it. The way to play is with a good ol' mouse and keyboard. Mouse for reticule (which I like ALOT better in MW3, BTW) and keyboard for movment (throttle, strafe, weapons).

That's exactly what I do Phlubb and my response time for shooting down stuff is a lot quicker than any good joystick player.'

I use a M$ Precision Pro and mouse. It's nice using the JS left handed because you have your thumb on 2 buttuns instead of one. You need atleast 3 firing chains for mech 4 IMO. I have the Innersphere mechpack and the Black Knight Expansion pack installed. There is also a Clan Mechpack and the Mercenaries Expansion pack that was just released. The game is worth the investment just for the explosions.. even dying in Mech 4 is pretty.
