If you keep it patched, XP pro comes with ISS and you can set up your FTP with that. <ducks from flying objects>:D
Download Linux Mandrake for free, it comes with everything you need. Webmin and a few FTP's. Install that on a dedicated machine and you are all set.
Check this one out;

WS_FTP95 LE without a doubt. Available through www.download.com
:)
I use IIS here. No problems, so long as you secure it and keep it updated :)

Not to hijack the thread but, what you all use for an ftp client, not to host but to connect and download.
I have tried WS ftp i dont like it, and Cute ftp sucks crap. I need something that can queue up multiple folders well, when im on my ftps downloading multiple folders of mp3s, cute ftp does a really bad job of queuing stuff up and is always prompting me and then I add rules and I still get problems.
As for hosting an ftp I use an old version of serv-u.
I've been using Bulletproof FTP for about a week or so. It's not bad.

If you have XP or 2k the easiest way is ISS built into the OS, very easy to setup.
