What is the BEST AMD processor for under $110-$120? I'm building a computer and just got a sale on a few items, and I have a little more money to spend. I have an 1800+ t-bred on my list, but would like something more. What is the best processor for under $120?

Oh, could you take a look at my list and tell me what I should upgrade using $30-$50 I saved? If the processor isn't the best to spend the extra money on, what should I upgrade? Here's the list..........LIST (http://secure.newegg.com/app/WishList.asp?position=HISTORY&submit=VIEW&ID=190884)

if i were buying processor from newegg I'd get the 1900XP with AGOGA stepping. it'll overclock like mad.

looks like newegg sells mobile amd chips now..hmm... anyone know how well they clock with that low stock voltage?

I would stick with the Tbred 1800+, people are doing pretty well overclock wise with them and with most kt333 and all kt 400's you will have full use of the multipliers, it seems to be alot of bang for the buck, much like the Agoia y 0213 1600+'s are.

I think the 1600+, 1700+, or 1800+ are all good choices.

If you're talking default speeds, the XP2100+ is a great choice for just over $100 retail.

If you're going to overlcock, I can personally atest to the XP1800+ tbred being a champ overclocker, just don't expect miracles (2ghz is about it within reasonable voltages).

All 1700+ and 1800+ tbreds are unlocked.

The 1900XP with AGOGA revision code isn't that great, you're actually likely to get more out of an AGOIA 1600+ unlocked (or any AGOIA/AROIAs for that matter).

I too, would suggest getting an XP 1600+ AGIOA for $51.99 from www.newegg.com right now and save the exra $50-$70 for something else. You can easily oc the 1600 to speeds of a 2000.

Ditto.

1800+ T-Bred if you're going to overclock. 2100+ XP if you want to stick with stock speeds. The rest shouldn't be considered.

If it's a good vendor, they'll usually label it for you but there are many visual differences:

There's a picture of an XP. Notice how the codes are on the core and it has no resistors around the core.

Above is the picture of a T-Bred. Notice how it has resistors around the core and the stepping is printed on the side of the chip.
