I am looking for a sound card that will not limit my overclocking too much. Any suggestions or expierences? Thanks.

Hehehehehehhehehehe, although what im sure your saying is what can take the most pci voltage/mhz it just sounds funny anyways. My live card has taken 60mhz but thats really not much. still like the card, cheap and effective eax

60MHZ on the PCI bus, nope, sorry, but that isn't possible.
Almost no PCI device operates reliably beyond 42Mhz. That is why you see all these wonderful PCI dividers.

I have 3 questions for you
What is your FSB running at?
What is your CPU running at
What mulitplier are you using

my cpu "was" at 125fsb with a multiplyer of 20 and 2503 or something like that. my onboard died after a while but my live was good

This means you PCI bus was either running at one of the following
125 / 3 = 41.6
or
125 / 4 = 31.25Mhz
If it is the top one, then you are right around the limit I said in my first post in this thread

The Sound Blaster Audigy can handle up to 45MHz PCI bus without loosing stability. I saw this on a hardcore OC review awhile back.
I'm not sure about the Audigy2 but I bet the standards are just as high.

Did it sound like "Alvin and the Chipmunks"?

lol... um 60mhz PCI bus eh? :D anyways, i'd say go for a creative card, my audigy has ran at 165/4 = 41.25mhz just fine for alittle over 2 weeks...

Thanks for the constructive feedback and 60HZ...unheard of on the PCI bus. PCI bus normally runs at 33mhz. You can not run it at 60mhz, if you did imagine what your AGP bus would be running at. Now that's scarry.:D
What about 50Mhz PCI? My KR7A only has 4/1 and 3/1 FSB/PCI dividers, so at 200 FSB..

Sorry, you will NEVER get your board up to a 200Mhz FSB speed if it only has those dividers. Be happy if you can get to 160Mhz. I would say the max you will reach if nothing else fails will be in the 170 range.

It's really a luck of the draw, but most of them will take it up to about 37 mhz or so.
