I have heard theres a way to change the mult of AXPs without any modification to the processor. A friend of mine mentioned it but neither of us have any idea what it might be, or entail. He thought that only some motherboards support it etc. For the record I dont mean connecting the L1s. Anyone heard of this? How does it work? If mobo support is required, what mobos support it? Links? :D

Thanks guys

The KT400 and Nforce 2 boards can use the higher multiplier ranges without the need for unlocking. They can't use the lower multipliers without closing the last L3 bridge.

You that is probably what you are thinking of (linking the last L3 to allow the multis below 12.5 on XP2200+ and above). You could also wire together the correct 2 pins on the bottom of the cpu. You could also hardwire your mobo I guess.

No this is for a 2000+. I would have thought this would come to light quickly if it worked for palaminos haha. Thanks guys :)

Well I certainly havent heard anything about it - but as I have an XP2000+ if you hear about it elsewhere do let me know! ( I asked on a different forum about the possibility of wiring the pins on the cpu to replicate closing the L1's but apparently it is not possible)

Nah that still relates to Tbreds only.
