Hi people!
I have a few rigs as you can see in my sig, all are air cooled and I think its time I moved on to some sort of active cooling.
I think I am going to sell my XP2400+ system this week and I am thinking about an 800FSB HT P4 and a Springdale board early next year. In the meantime I want a nice easy starter system to cool my 2.5ghz P4 and then Ill probably transfer it to the 800FSB P4 later.

My question is really what sort of cooling is best to go for. I want something that isnt going to be too messy. I have been looking at the Swiftech Stuff, and I fancy getting a TEC if I'm going water, otherwise I may go for a Prometia if water cooling is going to cost much more than £200 ($300).

I aim to run my CPU at around 20c max full load hopefully, if that means putting my rad outside (its about 1-10c here in winter) then thats OK but its not an ideal solution..

Basically if I could have your recommendations and the sort of temps you get that would be great! Oh - Ideally the system will be tranferrable between P4 and Athlon CPU ( I may get a Barton, or even an Athlon 64 early next year)

TIA people!:burn:

um a highend w/c setup would only cost just over 150($) if your smart about it, and you could add a 224watt tec 40ish($) and you'd need a tec psu to get the good amps without the big price of a normal psu nd those go for 70-80($), but if you've got the money go for prometia, and dont get the case that comes along with it just order without the case and get a Barton as long as there not too expensive(well i see you an intel man so that shouldnt be to much of a prob) i have a feeling Athlon64's aren't going to o-c for crap!, oh and since your were on the subject w/ all that high end stuff your planning on dont skimp on the mobo wait till nforce2 get the bugs and high prices worked outa them! and you'll be set!

Cheers m8 - Im really an AMD man at heart but I get a few Engineering Samples on loan from my m8 at Intel, so hence I am thinking about 800FSB HT chips etc.
I was considering nForce2 as a replacement for the KT333 8k3a I have, thinking Epox 8RGA......
Any particular recommendations on Waterblock, pump etc or a full watercooling kit with TEC would be good - I had a look at this but it seems a bit cheap...

Yeah, I'm going into watercooling pretty quick, and I guess if you do some homebrewed stuff you can get a decent system for under $100
