View Full Version : New 1.4 Tularon Vcore 1.48 ?
Got my new celly in last nite, when I fired it up that first time the first thing I did was look at the little Gigabyte Utility Manager . Vcore was at 1.50, cpu temp. @ 43c. and all the fans were spinning ect. Ran my old version of Sandra and this bad boy was benchmarking better than the 1.6 P4 that was listed for multimedia. I went ahead and ran it 10 cycles of burn in wizzard w/ multimedia & cpu to see how hot it got , 43c idle and 48c @ 100%. So I went ahead and ran the EasyTune III and voided the waranty to get that out of the way, bumped it up to1610MHz and it was rock solid with Sandra and everything else.........cut the rendering time on Studio 8 down to 4:15min per 1min of video from 7:30min. with my old 800MHz celly. Now , today I notice the Vcore is 1.48v.......? Do these chips have a thermal throttle like the P4s ? Also , when I changed my profile I got a little notice that I could not use my Hotmail email address any more ? Whats up with that ? If I can't use it what happens ? It is the only one I have and I'm going to keep it that way, we are full time RV'ers and I can't change my email every time we change out ISP, thats why I went to hotmail to start with..............so would somebody kindly enlighten this ol' hippie................thanx.
Vcore will either be 1.475 or 1.500, depending on the stepping.

Well it's 1.48v acording to the Gigabyte Utility Manager and 1.480v. in the bios to.........am I missing something somewhere ?Shows that it should be 1.50 in the Intel data sheets. My bios offers no way to adjust and neither does the EasyTune III overclocking utility from Gigabyte..........as good as it's performing I think I'll just leave it be for now.........unless someones got any ideas ?:burn:

I am positive it's just your motherboard can't tell the difference of 0.02V:)

All of the 1.4 Tualatin's are 1.500 volts, regardless of the stepping. I wouldn't worry about the 1.48v reading. It can fluctuate up to +/- 0.05v depending on your motherboard and power supply. Rig #4 in my sig reads around 1.550v and there is no option in the BIOS to change the voltage from the CPU default.
 I guess you guys are right, being an old electrician by trade I expect it to be right on the chilie . I still don't know what to do about my E-Mail address ? I can't update my profile, at least I can still post.......Is there any way for an exception to be made? Even though I don't post a lot I still want to be able to when I have something to add or ask . Since it's a holiday weekend I don't have a lot of time to do a proper search to dig up the reasons for the ban on hotmail, yahoo, msm type addresses. Could one of you senior members enlighten me on this issue or point me to the info ? Thanx & Happy Turkey Day !
Ol'Stanley:beer:
I have the same problem, and when I wanted to register for a gaming forum I couldn't 'cause of the e-mail...
It sucks!
I'd like to change my sig as I first of all have made a typo and also because I don't have that rig anymore! :)
I think the reason is that ppl can just register for a free e-mail, then use it to register on other sites (like this one) and screw around... if they get banned it doesn't matter because it's not their real e-mail!
But if we are already registered and are serios members of the forum I dodn't think this should be right :(
Since we are in the motorhome full time the computer has a very small and tite corner , dusty to, also. I have it rigged with a case fan that sucks in the back, thru an filter for the dust, and puts positive air preasure on the case . The Power Cooler on the 1.4 GHz celeron is as good as I could find on short notice here in Port "A" and when the sun goes down it's not to hot in the RV. But these hot little chips need some air. When It starts in the morning and it cool in here it runs 38C. and the Vcore is 1.50, as soon as it hits 41or42C. the voltage drops to 1.480, and when I start loading it up and it gets toaround 47C. the voltage drops again to 1.70 and won't go back up to 1.80 until the temp goes down . I put another 80mm case fan in the front to push air out but the factory holes are so small it can't move enough air so I'm going to have to do a little southern enginering.........open up the venturi a little . Any sudjestions on a good socket 370 cooler for this thing ?

As to your hotmail issue:

I've never posted a link to another post so it may not work for you, but it goes to a post in the General Computer Related discussion titled banning hotmail or something.
Users who registered with hotmail accounts before this took affect wern't supposed to be banned, I havn't been.

I have heard that you can use ant free email except yahoo, hot mail or msn. thare are lots of others out there so you should be able to dig one up pretty easily. Congrats ob RVing and enjoying life!! :)
Yeah, I guess I could , Heck I'll have to so I can update my profile and edit my posts. In last post it should 1.470 not 1.70........
