My main Christmas gift this year will be a video card, as on my current rig I am using a 32MB Hercules 3DProphet 4000XT PCI, which is obviously terribly slow and obsolete.

My rig is an Epox 8K5A3+, XP1700+ T-Bred (should have it at 2Ghz when I get my planned watercooling setup up and running), 256MB Mushkin PC-3200 (considering upgrading to 512MB PC-3500). I have several options (listed below), which one of these cards would offer the best performance on this setup? for the settings I play at (1024x768, aniso & AA)?

(I'm a Best Buy employee so I get everything at cost + 5%)

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro - $326 (w/ store discount)
(BFG Tech) Asylum Ti4200 128MB- $199 retail (should be around $140 w/ my discount), -$50 instant rebate, -$55 mail-in rebate= $35
Asylum Ti4600 128MB- $283 (w/ store discount)

TIA

Radeon 9500 Pro its better than a Ti4600 with AA and aniso, and better than a 4400 with everything turned off

your rig can take advantage of the 9700 so go for it if you can afford it. Get the ti4200 as well (can't go wrong for that price) - second best. Leave the ti4600 out of the equasion.
