i have a question about this antec 430 truepower psu.. it has 2 connectors that say fan only so i plugged 2 fans in there... but i tried 50cfm sunon in one of them and it didnt work in those connectors.. had to use a main one.. whats up with that?
also.. are these voltages normal?

5.92
3.2
12 v line a bit low for an antec? or..
thanks for input

Lt. Max the fan only connecters are supposed to run the fans at 45% until the power supply reaches a certian temp and then it kicks them up to full power. This is done to reduce case noise. I believe it does this buy cutting the voltage to the fan. I'm guessing that its not giving those Sunons enough juice to run.
As for the other question, those voltages do seem off. My True Power 550 holds the 5 volt at 5.11, the 3.3 at 3.33 and the 12 volt at 11.96 no matter what I have running off it.
5.92 seems awful high and seems to me that its out of there .3% error margin could be reason enough to RMA it.
good luck.

hey sorry. 5v line is 4.92... my bad.. the 5v line seems good, but the 3.3 and especially 12v line seemed kinda suspicious.. ill tell him to check the stuff again tmrw.. and to not use the fan only connectors.
tnx

Man Max your quick.
I came to edit post and you had allready replied.
Just wanted to mention that you should try and test the PS with a multimeter if you can. I had a board that was showing about the same readings your getting and it wasn't the PS but the mobo as all readings came out with the multimeter to be what they should have been.

You can test the 5 volt and the 12 volt off the empty molex connectors and the 3.3 volt off of the AUX cable.

Ok I found a post from YMAN that explains it better than I.
All credit to YMAN
"All multimeters will have a DC Voltmeter, set your
multimeter to that. First turn on the comp let it sit
for a minute, before putting any load take a
measurement (as follows). Be carefull to not short
anything out, carefully stick the prongs into an
open molex.
4 WIRE DRIVE MOLEX
Red Prong (+) | Black Prong (-)
------------------------
Red ................. + Black = +5.00 Volts
Yellow ............. + Black = +12.00 Volts
Then place the system under load, you can do this
with a burn in program if you like, and test again,
record the results. If you want to check the 3.3v line
stick the prong ontop the ATX molex, while pluged in.
That might sound funny, but just stick the prongs on
the metal inside the hole corresponding with the wire.
The colors for +3.3v are orange and black. These are
the there main lines that you should test. I will also
list other combinations in the ATX molex below.
20 Wire ATX Motherboard MOLEX
Red Prong (+) | Black Prong (-)
------------------------
Orange .......... + Black = +3.3v
Purple ............ + Black = +5.00v (5VSB)
Yellow ............ + Blue = +24.00v (Mass Fan Overclock )
Red ................ + Blue = +17.00v "
