I recently just got a Asus A7N8X but for some reason I cant get online through my wireless linksys router 4 port switch. I had no problem when I was using the asus A7V8X. I can connect directly through my DSL modem using pppoe and creating a broadband dial up connection. I know the router is working because my other computer connects to the router by a wireless USB connection it is also a linksys product. Now when I go online and I connect directly through the dsl modem it disconnects my remote computer so whenever I have work units to upload from my remote computer I have to reconnect the router. I have tried connecting using both the nvidia network adapter and the 3 com one and both at the same time. I have tried almost every combo of setting up a network whether it be using a gateway, router or broadband connection that is always on ,the one where you dont have to put the login and pass. any suggestions, ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Basically what your saying is that the network card in the new motherboard, be it on board, or PCI isn't working correct?

1. Are you overclocking? If you are, drop down to stock speeds and see if it helps, NIC's can be sensitive, especially the onboard nVidia one, the 3Com should take some good PCI bus speeds though.

2. Are you telling the NIC to get their IP address via DHCP? If not you should.

Kingslayer thanks for the response,
The nforce2 boards have 2 on board lan connections one is nvidia the other is 3com. I am overclocking just a tad using a FSB of 170 instead off the defualt 166. memory is running at 200 with 7 2 2 2 timings i believe. When I get home tonight I will put it back at 166 and try the DHCP thing. To use that I would go into the properties of the NIC? I will try and figure it out tonight.

Thanks again.
