i was watching TV really late last night and i flipped over to a computer infomercial on like shop at home or a simular station.

i was stunned when i saw them selling an AMD computer with a window and blue neon!!!

i took some pictures of what was on my TV with my digi cam
so it aint the prettiest but you get the idea.

ive seen that infomercial before,is silly trying to sell that to the general public.the cust support if they even have any should be getting some really good phone calls.

umm hello? my hard drive isnt glowing no more ,and the window on it needed cleaning so i sprayed it good with windex.now it doesnt do anything.i think the moniter is dead or something.can you fix it?and how did you guys get the smoke to come out like that? was really cool!

The window and lights are simply there to distract the viewer from the fact that their wasting so much money. From the ones I've seen their over-charging more than regular OEMs. But atleast MOST of the hardware is A Grade (and not a crappy 2ghz Celeron).

OMG...I'm so TIRED of seeing this stupid Infomercial.


The worst part about it is there are about 4 of them, and the newest one advertises a 2.4 gig pentium ( I believe ) as NEXT YEARS TECHNOLOGY!

It's sick to see how they rip people off, telling them that they are getting the newest tech. and the best deal, when in reality, they aren't getting a whole lot. OMG, and the software bundles that suposedly worth $2000...LMAO...notice how they don't focus on that, that's because it's all CRAP!

Worst part about it is the wannbe's who's mommy and daddy will buy this, not knowing any better, who will sit there and brag about their "modded" case and "superfast" system.

Sooner or later, people like us, who mod our own riggs, will be dealing with the crap about, "ohh..mine is so much better than yours"...and like already said...soner or later, what we do to our OWN riggs, won't be considered "modding" anymore, it's becoming way to comercial.

the way I look at it, if you modded it yourself, AWESOME!! if you bought it that way...don't even try braggin' about it.

EDIT: one more thing...on the newest infomercial, they talk about a program that comes with the computer to "speed" it up...to"squeeze out more performance" ( <~~~~their own words )..LOL...sort of like MSI's "Fuzzylogic"...what they don't tell people is that using it can KILL the system or one of its components, because it's OVERCLOCKING the system, which utimately VOIDS their warrantee...LMAO

I can imagine the tech support calls now....

customer: Hello?....My new system won't start up anymore.............
Tech: hmmm, well what were you doing last time it was running?
custome: I was using the program that came with it, to speed it up, and I set something called "voltage" higher...you know..to make it go faster..
Tech: ohhh, i'm sorry, sounds like you burned up your CPU, furthermore, running your system out of spec voids your warrantee, it's in the fine print, we'll send you the 300x magnifying glass needed to read it, as a free gift...:D

LOL, OMG, one night one was on and a friend of mine was over, we were destroying eachother in UT2003..( ok, i was destroying him...lol ) and we both stopped to watch just to see what kind of crap they were saying...LOL.....needless to say, we both had a good laugh for the whole 1/2 hour it was on, and I remember that exact same line...they also use it for the intel systems as well....LOL

Imagine what is like "importing" watercooling and lighting in your country (i'm in Cyprus and NEVER saw a watercooled puter or one with lights before mine) and after a month : a)Koolance gets imported in Cyprus (i was the first to bring it, but I'm not its reseller =( just brought one for me) b) they start selling watercooled computers c)they start selling puters with windows and CCFLs.

At least my friends and I know I was the first , the "chosen one" =P
