View Full Version : Any IDIOTS guide to 3d Max or Maya?
i want to learn these softwares on my own i can't afford to go to some place and learn them, is it possible? if so is there any idiot's guide available (for free do i need to say?) so i can start on the basics ??

I remember 3ds max having a tutorial in their help file. I'm not sure about Maya, I haven't playied with that one.

Dark yeah there is a tutorial but its for people with mind's not for idiots like me :(
In plain words i found the tutorial to be kinda hard

Yeah the tutorial was hard for me too. I got about two sections into it and got totally lost when it started to get into animations.
You either get this stuff or you don't.

They'll send you some of the best tutorials ever. Once you sign up, you can download them instead. They explain everything in a simple way, and its FREE. If you post a lot in there forums, you'll get your tutorials in about 1 or 2 months. I prefer just downloading them though.

Maya comes with a pretty good online guide. It seems to me it would be worth the time to print it out. Only problem I have is it has a pretty steep learning curve.

Yeah, definitely a steep learning curve. That would be my dream job though. My uncle works at home, whenever he wants doing this stuff. Anyway, let me know what you think of the tutorials.

you should have a frame to the left when you're browsing the main page. There should be a download link there. You have to be logged in to see it.

no problem, i'm happy to help. I honestly just want other people to know about them, because they're so awesome:D You do need divx to watch them though, if anyones having trouble.
