I have a door to the outside directly next to my PC station, so I opened that puppy up and let the winter air in.

I upped my vcore to 2.00v (walked my way up so I could benchmark)... case temp was 21C, cpu idle 32C, cpu load 36C

Here's the results:

1800+ AIUGA at 182x12=2178mhz (wcpuid) at 1.90v boot but no windows
1800+ AIUGA at 182x12=2178mhz (wcpuid) at 1.95v booted, loaded windows, ran wcpuid, but 3D Mark would fail.
1800+ AIUGA at 182x12=2178mhz (wcpuid) at 2.00v booted, loaded windows, ran wcpuid, ran 3D Mark. Completely stable, typing this now still at 2.00v

This is as high as this core will go under extreme conditions.

really nice oc pinky. thats on h20 also correct?reason i ask im buying h20 next week and can kinda guess my oc's.

i dont wanna jinx ya but ive yet to here of anyone killen a tbred yet with vcore.even tho is more likley in my books than a palamino.

ive put mine at 2v for about 3minutes. on air and was crazy temps 55 c idle. ill wait on the h20 before i try that again.

i also gotta feeling i wont get no more oc than what you are getting.those 1700-1800 tbreds are are sweet deals now.

Well, it was plenty cool (like 30F in my living room) when I did the test run, and I refused to go any higher than 2v for it (guaranteed death beyond that). It was watercooling, but having really cold air was the only reason I got where I did.

I have since dropped back to my normal OC. No way I'd run that high a voltage in my living room which is usually very warm (like 75+F). My case gets as high as 36C with only one 92mm exhaust fan (to cut down on noise). I can only imagine the kind of heat a 2v overclock would generate in a case that warm.

Verry, verry nice Pinky! :)

Hmmm, i wonder if i can get my 1600 that high? We'll soon find out, won't we? ;)

is not guaranteed death.

nice clockage. my 2000+ is an older chip and does not scale like the newer issues.

running @2.1vre right now on my MP2000+, it is quite happy @30*c, on air, low 40*c's under full load, 205FSB @9x, in a 24"full tower, mc462 w/80mm Delta, totally rounded cables and BIG case fans carefully placed for a good wind tunnel experience.

cooling is an art and even with the best heatsink and fan in the world i have seen people with miserable results because everything else is kinda done not quite right.

my rigs run cooler with the side ON, not off with house fans blowing into the exposed side like you read all the time at the BBS sites. what a waste of foot space.

got 12+ years into clocking, temps rule, been almost everywhere on the map.

i have the Prometeia device sitting in front of me, waiting for a full tower custom acrylic case. i only want to build this sucker once, too many sealing mods to be changing it on a moments notice.

ah, can't wait to lower the fan noise back to a small whisper.

awesome overclock

when i had my 1600+ tbred, i ran it at 2.1-2.2 vcore fine with my
water setup to get 2.15ghz

Just one question Pinky.
I noticed your 3dmark is very low for an O/Cd GF4 ti4600.
You should be way over 15k points.

Again, Great O/C.

I don't know about that. The 41.03 drivers aren't the best score performers...

**I just checked madonion and noticed most 14,000+ scores with the same video card are higher FSB (200+mhz) systems and the older drivers (which add a couple hundreds points).

Sad thing is, opening all your doors to let the winter air in the get a higher overclock really seems to make sense to me... Sheesh, I gotta get another hobby!

That's the truth. I sure don't get this performance with 27C room temp! lol

nice...clock it some more! anyone ever think of refrigerator cooling? ;) i brought that up with my overclocking buddy and he reminded me of the dreadful process of condensation...ack
