Interesting, thanks for the link.

I think I heard John Carmack say last year that games would eventually move to 64 bit platform, but he didn't expect developers would need that much headroom for another decade.

The high end workstation graphic cards have been on line for some time . Now that the developers have the freedom to fully utilize them I think we will be surprised at how fast they fill that head room.

There's going to be a x86-64 port for UT2003. Although they probably want x86-64 for the expanded registers rather than the "64-bit" ness. But don't think that AMD won't be marketing that.
