Need help setting up Cable Router

I'm having trouble setting up my Belkin cable router. It comes with a software wizard thats supposed to help you set it up, but the program says it won't run on windows 2000 (I've checked for updates, there are none). I know how the wiring is supposed to go (cable modem to router WAN port; PC to First port on Router)
I called tech support and they are closed for the holidays :(

Help would be much appreciated!

is the router kinda working...meaning are you snagging a ip off of it ? if so just try a ipconfig /all and see what the default gateway is and just try goin through ie and see if it will let you in if not i am totally lost try configuring it on a non 2k machine :(

do you have a configuration ip on your router.. some routers like my linksys let you configure it at 192.168.1.1
