Hello all! I have not been here since 6-17-02! Quite alot has been going on since then, including the introduction of the geforce4 series and the Athlon XP to 2700+ and P4 to 2.8GHz and the Radeon 9700! I have found benchmarks for the NV30, aka geforceFX. Many of us thought the geforce name would no longer exist. Others thought GeforceXP or Eclispe.
Whoa! talk about power! the Geforce4ti 4600 does "only" 94fps. I remember the geforce2 ultra getting 38fps! we have come a looooooong way!

Note: some of the words might be in german.
Here's some rumor specs:
1. 400MHz core speeds(the ultra may have 500)
2. 200MHz QDR which is equivelent to 800MHz
3. 125 million transistors.
4. 128mb of memory, perhaps even 256
5. 64 bit color in 2-d and 3-d, with 128 bit possible
6. 8x and 16x fsaa with new methods.
7. AGP 8x
8. directx 9.0+
9. QUXGA resolutions which is 3200x2400
10. a bunch of other features to improve realism!

Hmm, I guess when I get my new job I'll just rebuild my computer, one of the first pieces can be a shiny new Geforce FX.

Probably $600 at launch. The geforce2 ultra cost $799 a month before stores had em. Why and how anyone could get a card that early is a mystery. The price dropped each day though and when stores got em they cost "only" $499 or was it $449 it was way ahead of its time. It was the same as a vanila geforce2 except clocked far higher! I heard Nvidia could only find one supplier that was able to provide such fast ram!

ddrII is not QDR memory, itīs just a very fast memory but it's still ddr

errrrr...
"GeForceFX vs. GeForce4 Ti
Source of SOURCE: nVidia "
Nope, no real benchy here
and why they use % in one and fps in anothers??
Well even though it looks like an awesome card, quake3 is not that good of a benchmark.

isnt DDR2 DDR times DDR or 4 cycles per clock? double times double is quadriple, no? As for quake3, perhaps MDK2, serious sam might be better, but quake3 is still a classic. I think they used % so you dont have to do the math. I can try to find more sources, but they say the card is comming out on Feb, so thats 2.5 months then another 6 weeks before on store shelves

im not sure but i think it will have 1 ghz memory. (NOT SURE)
who cares about quake3 benchmarks anymore? any decent card gets at least 100fps at 1024x768.

decent card being a geforce or radeon? my geforce2mx 32mb gives 75fps in 1024x768x16 I think. I havent played quake3 in forever!
geforce2mx gets 75fps... that right there means quake3 is not a valid test anymore. its archaic.
the only tests that mean much right now are UT2k3 and now Doom3 is taking the stage.

why is quake3 not valid? it may be 5 years old by now, but it still shows the performance of all video cards. I heard about unreal II and unreal tournament 2000. Has unreal stopped using glide and being optimized for the voodoo3/4/5 cards? Doom3 is in beta now, it should be available in a few years.
Me thinks me likes faster cards. Me also thinks people should wait for official lauches..
Me think me have no money to spend on a shiny thing like that.

because it doesn't use current technology.
if i wanted to know how my card performs in dx7 then it would be different.
but i want to know how my card will perform on the latest games that use dx8+
