is the bigger the case better for overclocking?

I am building a new system and i had my eye on this case check it out.

Also i would assume that bigger the case the better because wouldnt the heat disipate better?

That's the same case I just bought at a computer show two weekends ago. It's a great case. Lots of space for rent. I was able to fit two power suplies and a danger den cooling cube in the top of that monster !!

As for your question, yes and no. They key to case cooling isn't so much that you have a ton of space, it's that you circulate cold air through the space you have. A bigger case allows for more open areas, IE: there arn't any areas where there's nothing but a nest of cables and drives to block air flow. This is a good thing. Air needs space to flow through, a birds nest of cables will slow it right down, but a case that has lots of free open space will be cooler because the air can move through it easier.

What you need to do is get lots of cold air in and lots of hot air out. Inorder to do this you need to have a free flow of air through your case, no barriers to stop it. If you can do that then the inside case temps should be lower = better chances at higher overclocking speeds.

I had another question is the ice box 4000 a good deal for 119+free shipping ? I think it is for the price and performance. I mean you cant get any better than that anywhere else ive looked

its nice, solid, looks pretty cool and all for 84$. . .however i recommend going with the icebox instead. a bigger case is better, more room to work in, and wire clutter isnt as much of a problem with stopping airflow

actually the 4000 is the full and 5000 is mid-tower , the 4000 is much lager and has 5 fans and 4000 has 4 . 4000 pulls 200cfm and 5000 128cfm

Ok then I got mixed up the 4000 is the one with the all white case and the 500 is the one that looks like a compcrap on the front right

The motherboard tray is a little different on these cases. What happens is there are like 5 screws that hold it in, after you get all the screws off the board slides twards the front of the case and then swings back on hinges. It dosn't come off all the way, just swings back out of the case. Not as nice as the ones that slide right out the back of the case, but it's better than not coming out at all. It's still easy to work on the board, it's just a pain because it stays attached to the case.

wasn't going to answer your second question but I guess I will.

I got my tower form a computer show for 59 bucks. Now keep in mind it didn't come with all those fans. Or the mod in the side with the two fans built into the case side. I had to do those my self (that's the fun part anyway) I think mine came with a 300w Deer power supply.

Here's my math, you decide if it's a good deal after that. This is what it would cost to buy all that stuff and do the mods your self.

Case - 59
Fans - 25 @ $5 + shiping $35 each <--dam good deal
Two chrome fan grills - 4 + shiping = $10
Time to make holes in side case - ??? $30
Total = $135 maybe low ??

So yah, I guess it's a good deal.

One more thing. Enermax power supplies are very nice. I would love to get the next size up, the 431 but can't afford it right now. There very nice, takes alot of stuff to load these suckers down. Nice power supplies and if you can afford one I would highly recomend geting one.

I just bought the case and the tech guy said that the case comes with a whole bunch of adapters so go into the motherboard or psu. the price came to 120 bucks with shipping since i got it for free. The case seems kinda large but it should suit me for at least 3 years unless they decide to change the design of cases with motherboards. Since i am selling my old computer that has a brand new aopen 300watt psu i might just switch the two psu out and put the aopen in my icebox. Oh yeah im getting the thermalright sk6/w delta and artic silver 2 for the cpu. If i cant get a good overclock with a 1.333 chip im going to be pissed.
I should get up to 1.5 gigertz easy or higher
