Rendering Efficency

Why does it take Bryce5 so long to render a simple scene ? Out of Bryce5 and Maya 4.5 Unlimited I've noticed that Maya 4.5 Unlimited renders about 80% faster than Bryce5... both with highest quality settings.

Well, when Corel took over Bryce 5, they updated it, and gave it tons of new tools, etc. The only thing that they haven't updated is the renderer. I think that the renderer has been the same since Bryce 3d

So they still using "Corel 3d's" rendering engine heh lol, i've still got that CD I think :/ it was fun but quality sucked.
