trying to attach heat sink directly to CPU on slot a without backplate-HOW?

I saw a good article on how to remove the backplate from a Slot A Athlon and attach the heatsink directly to it but now I can't seem to find it?

Any help out there?

What size are the screws / studs that hold the backplate on to the CPU? (and any other pertinent info).

I don't know how to do it but I would be very careful doing as I am sure you could ruin your core.
