i dunno why some ppl using athlon xp locked and still can up the fsb a lot but for me can't.i am using msi kt4v with athlon 2000xp(locked) and memory is twinmos pc-2700 512mb ddram.i cannot go higher than 136 fsb.original clock ratio is 133*12.5,so any idea?i already set the ram voltage to 2.7v and the vcore to 1.85v but same

It may be a PCI card holding you back. Also try relaxing the RAM timings.

your chip may just be a poor overclocker.

There can be many bottlenecks from overclocking some have already been mentioned in this thread: PCI Bus, RAM, chip limits, poor overclocker etc.

You may not get anymore because your 2000+ is an early stepping and won't allow you to go much. The 2000+ was already at the end of its line therefore it doesn't gain much. From 1600+ to 2000+ the chances of you getting higher fsb is reduced greatly.

There are no guarantees.

Try taking the computer out of the oven :D

First, malaysia is obviously hot this time of the year. lol 41C case temp is VERY HIGH, especially for overclocking and especially for trying to overclock an AMD system (which tend to run a bit hotter than the intels). Heat is your enemy and it seems you've been invaded. You may have lost this battle before even declaring war.

You can learn more about your memory timings on page 20 of this (http://homepage.mac.com/timrutter/BOG_PDF_6.2.zip) document.

pinky is right, with a temp like that you should be over clocking.
try getting water cooling or something. After overclocking, my cpu temp is 41c and my case is at 30c with load. Make sure you have a temp shutdown alarm on in your bios if you have one, i've seen amdxps cook.. its not pretty...

Stepping doesn't guarantee anything Period end of story.

But, if your processor runs cool then it's probably not the CPU's fault. Try eliminating PCI cards and upping core voltage and see if you can't stick in some better RAM.

As long as temps are below about 55 degrees things should run fine without problems.... My comp is at 38C system 51C Core after 10 days @ 100 % load... no crashes no glitches no nothing.
