I an running a A161 mobo with a AMD T-Bird Slot A.I can across an idea.I cut the rear of the plastic case right around the AMD sticker on the processor. Then I will mount a small heatsink fan over the opening to suck air out or away from the rear of the processor. The front of the bird has a twin fan heat sinf already.Theory both fans sucking on eigher end of the bird will case a small vacumm on the chip itself and cool from th rear and front. fedback anyone?

Go for it. You can never have to much cooling. I've already de-cased my PIII, now all I need is to mount a fan

Thats completely right, you can never go ttooo cool,m unless your talking like -100C, but I doubt you will get that :D
Heard of a 'Celery Sandwich'?
Why don't you go a leap further by removing the entire backplate and placing an extra HSF there right at the rear of the CPU core. This means your slot CPU is sandwiched between two HSFs and that would be certainly better than just a fan sucking air at the back. AS2 epoxy and a small copper space could be useful in mouting that extra HSF.

Cannot make the celery sandwitch no room behind my bird. I was a good idea.
Thanks
