I'm runnin into some problems with my vid card (GeForce 2). Just recently got an s-vid out adapter and i got some questions.

-When i pluged it into the t.v. i can only get Black & White, is that the only option? (for this vid card)

-Also, the max resolution it can go is 800x600, is the vid card limited or the T.V.?

-Is there a way to make the sharpness of objects better? ex. I can hardly read what i'm typing and i can only read it at 600x480 res.

This is my first time using a s-vid out to RCA on my t.v. (kinda feel like a nOObie) so if you have any information/experience with this type of problem(s) please help a nOObie out :D

I downloaded the Shareware of tvtool program. It makes the picture fit a little better but still out of adjustment, sill can't seem to manage to change the color... :(

First off, your TV is limited to 640x480 (unless you have High Def) so you need to set your video card to that if you can, or leave it at 800x600.
Second, there is no way to make it so you can read the text, the TV just cant make a small image that sharp no matter what. Lastly, go into your options for your display properties, then click on settings, then advanced, somewhere in there you will find settings for yout TV out on your card. Make sure it is set to NTSC, not the other standard which is Pal something. ALso (this may sound weird but I KNOW that it works on some TV) some tv's don't like computers, so when everything is up and running turn off your TV and turn it back on. Either the TV or the NTSC settings will fix your black and white problem. (also make sure your refresh rate is not above 60)

Hmm...

I think this is a high def t.v. When its on 800x600 it seems to fit almost perfectly on the settings NTSC. On the other hand, about the color, i guess i'll just have to try your wierd "theory" :D

And lastly
If my T.V. doesn't like my puter, then it is a discrace(sp) to my room

I'll try ur techniques... brb

I just did this very recently too, so hopefully I'll be able to help. Everything skahtul said is true, although I can read my text pretty good on my TV, but it's still blurry. You'll also want to play around with drivers, trying different ones and see what works best for you. The 31.80 drivers worked the best for me, but it will probably be different for you. I have a card with dual out, so I play all my games and watch my movies on my tv, but do all my typing and surfing on my monitor.

You SHOULD know if it is high def, if is says so on the front (usually since this is a main selling point) and you paid around 2000.00 (US) for it then it may be. Also make sure on your TV that S-Video In is set up properly, I have seen this be a problem on some TV's. You sometimes need to tell them what type of connection you are using.
GOOD LUCK.

hmm... my dad payed $850 for this combo tv 25" crystal clear vision... oh well

There is no s-vid out on the tv, had to get a s-vid adapter to RCA connection, maybe this is the reason? I'm all confused, maybe i should just save myself the trouble and buy a $25,000.00 monitor
