When the pump is running are you supposed to leave the T open or not? WHat if temps go up and its closed and since water wont really compress will something burst. Whats the deal? I have about a foot of air at the top of mine and the entire T is about 30 inches long.

Unless I'm missing something, you want to leave it capped and sealed (teflon tape, etc). Otherwise, water will evaporate out.

At least that's what happened to me (past tense -- I had a little accident and haven't been watercooling for a little while).

yup, close it. if its an innefficient T, and you have a REALLY strong pump, you can actually create enough pressure in that line to force water out the uncapped end. I put a valve at the end of mine for easy filling, bleeding, etc

Cap it. Use a thimble. Duct tape it in. Easy as that.

I actually used plumbers goop to connect an on/ off valve I got at home depot . Its like a small gate valve that twists. Was $5 but works very well. To fill or empty I just have to twist and its says its good to 100psi.

Capping it is a good idea also if you move the case around a lot or transport it. Hate to have water all over the inside of the case.
