Taisol HS + Delta = V.Good

After sending my AVIA TBird 1.2 back due to it not working at all, not even stable @ 1200. I decided to purchase a new HS to replace my Global Win FOP38. Went for the new Taisol HS, has a copper insert which contacts with the processor and the rest is Aluminiun. Aside from having a really bad clip design it is really good.

Dropped the temp of my TBird 850 @ 1000 by 5 degrees!! I can also run the processor @ 1050 now without the temp touching 45 deg. The highest it's got has been 41. I run alot of 3D graphic apps. So push processor alot.

And it was only £15.00, not sure what that's in dollars, but it's pretty damn cheap. Cheaper than almost all other HS. But I did put a Delta fan on it.

Just thought I'd let everybody know. Would have gone for a glaciator, but didn't know where to get one in England. This HS is good, cheap and not too heavy.

i dont see point of buying online now i hjave found a very good shop near me, before my favorite shop was overclockingstore.co.uk, you can get the SR6 heatsink there, i also got stuff from overclockers.co.uk but they cahrge for delivery

Wildfire, what don't you like about the clip design on the Taisol HS??
I have the all alum one and I really think the clip with 3 point contact on each side is more stable. It is tighter than some, but it goes on easy for me.

i haven't used the taisol hsf, but I am shocked to find anyone can find it worse than that thing on the Fop38.

No way! The Taisol Clip design is really stable, 3 clips and all, but I had to take out my motherboard (luckily it's on a removable thing) and use a screwdriver to get the damn thing on!! I found a really easy way to get the GlobalWin FOP clips on. Take the fan off and push down on the clip with a phillips screw driver or a thin flat head and voila! off comes the clip!

But the Taisol one was really stiff. And it hurt my fingers way more than the Global Win.

thats how i got the fop38 on the cpu. ok, so now I see where you are coming from.
