I recently bought and installed a n ATI 8500LE video card in place of the GeForce 4 mx440. My 3D Mark scores went up from 4200 to around 7500. The only problem is on Unreal Tourn it seems like the game takes about 45 seconds to begin the precaching ,before it came right up (about 5 seconds) When it is going through the precaching it skips like my older video cards used to do. When I start game play everything seems fine. Also play Max Payne and SOF II with no problems. Any ideas why? Have latest drivers and all other games play fine. Have not overclocked video card and don't think I should have to for this problem. It is a sapphire 8500 LE 128 MB card any Ideas. I have reinstalled UT several times same thing. APPRECIATE ANY HELP
Are you 110% sure u got any Nvidia drivers outa your system? The drivers conflict and cause massive problems. The only way to be sure, IMHO, is to foramt, iformat after every card change, this way i never have problems with drivers, and know right off the bat were to start looking.

go to preferences and video options and change renderer...
This is right on the MARK! Format. Make life easier. It's better and in the long run less time consuming. DO IT NOW!
