Only place arctic silver on the core of an athlon right?

yeah..

make sure you don't accidentally connect any of the bridges with it..

No questions here are stupid here, dont worry. Yes, make sure you dont connect the bridges or anything, and yes it is just on the core, and make sure you only out on a paper thin layer.

Is Arctic Silver electrically conductive? I've never used the stuff so I'm not sure.

yeah it is, not a stupid question as ive seen a pic with someone who spread it all over the chip.

Hmmm....If I were to use some ASII on the head of say a pin, would it be as effective as a conductive pen for connecting bridges? Or is it not conductive enough?

I was thinking of doing that to my friend's Tbird but since we already got a conductive paint pen so we shelved it. It should be mildly electrically conductive, high temperature resistant, non-evaporative, and easily obtainable. Hey, why not try it out and tell us about it? It should be easier to remove than conductive paint if applied wrongly...

I thought that as ll was only conductive under extream surcomstances, but it would be cool to see the results.

Arctic Silver is slightly capacitive and only ever so slightly conductive under extreme pressure. Each particle of silver is coated with silicone. How is it going to conduct electricity? The only way is if under extreme pressure, the silicone could be squeezed away from multiple silver particles and then multiple particles have to make contact with each other. Not very probable. Think about this on a microscopic scale.
