Go on - what do you have to lose?

A few minutes work, and you can have Mozilla up and running! Mozilla 1.1a is stable, easy to use, and more user-tweak-friendly, and Mozilla Mail knocks the socks off of Outlook.

I've used Mozilla as my default browser for over a year now (I dread having to use IE on other PCs), and just switched to Mozilla Mail now I've changed ISPs (from Freeserve.com to Virgin.net).

www.mozilla.org has it all for you, just waiting!

Down with Bill!

actually mozilla is highly unstable on my computer. I wish there was a way for it to work. I use MyIE2 now. It's great, it's just IE except it adds tabs, and mouse gestures. So far IE hasn't crashed yet.

But the mozilla crash I think is java related somehow, although I even uninstalled java. So still try out mozilla I liked it except for my random crashes.

I would try other browsers only if there was support for the M$ Gaming Zone, which I only use because of Mechwarrior 4 and my very good friends there :). Too bad its incompatibility is another effect of monopolistic efforts...

I understand.....even I have IE6 hidden away for those annoying sites that are only IE compatible.......

Some one on another forum might have caught why mozilla and such freeze on my computer. There is something with using a radeon based card, and it freezing. I'm trying to find out if there is a patch for this. He had the same problem with his computer and his radeon 8500

I'm betting big $$$'s your using a Radeon vid card. I bought a 8500 knowing this occasionally happened on Mozilla and Opera but soon found out it happened ALOT. Needless to say the card soon went back. It's amazing the complex web-page rendering can bring a vid card like that to it's knees, but it's the truth.

for those whose PC won't run mozilla, but don't want to go IE, try Opera :) .. I love this browser, and in some cases, it loads pages faster than IE .. but the java handling's quite horrible (I sell stuff on ebay, and opera wouldn't let me upload pictures since it's using java stuff .. IE would) ...

I use Phoenix about 80% of the time and IE for a couple sites that only run right on IE. For normal searching though, I am Phoenix all the way. I am hooked on those tabs.

I never had a problem on my Radeon - worked fine for me.......I like Opera too, but I feel Mozilla is happier with stuff like Java, Flash etc......

What drivers are you using? If they are different than mine I might have to check them out.

I'm with you. I've been using Mozilla & Mozilla Mail for the past... I think 10 months. Outlook has never had a place on my computer :p . Before I started using Mozilla I was holding on to Netscape 4.79's mail program.

1.2.1 YAY YAY!! :D

It's slow, bloated, limited, and doesn't conform to some of the established web browser specifications.

I think mozilla is the one that best conforms to the specs, but I use phoenix, a cut-down version of mozilla that's extremely fast.

I prefer Opera but seem to use Netscape 7 more since it's a little more functional on the sites I regulary use, except Ebay which crashes the video memory (maybe it's my Elsa card). Some sites just don't look right without Explorer so I keep it as a backup.

I switched to Eudora 5.2 from Outlook. I never had any virus problems with Outlook since I run a tight computer but I LOVE Eudora. It imported all my Outlook folders without a hitch, set up my account and I was checking mail within 5 minutes. It's MUCH faster to load also. Security-wise there aren't as many exploits I've heard about (yet) but they're probably coming.

One thing I learned long ago is to keep your browser and email client separate. Certain intrusive website cookies can read all your personal info you put in your email account setup. I NEVER use Netscape mail for this reason after I saw an example of this on a friend's computer. The cookie he found had his name, address and other personal info in there for no legitimate reason.

I used eudora as my first email program, when i joined up with my 14.4 modem, eudora lite came on my ISP's 5 1/4 setup floopy for win31. I have only heard of a few security hacks for it. (but compare that to the number of security updates outlook/express gets. )

what about this one:
http://www.pivx.com/larholm/unpatched/

that's the security holes that everyone knows about, but MS has refused / yet to fix.

Use Mozilla, or atleast a Mozilla-based browser. My Phoenix runs REAL Java, none of this MS Virtual Java Machine crap.
