My system is Win2k, and when I installed it for the 3rd time because of this issue, it still pics up my IDE drives at SCSI, and claims I have two SCSI adapters installed, when I have none.
I have tried to switch them back before, but them allI got was blue screens with VIA driver errors.
One time when I left it as it was and then installed UT2003 demo, it crapped out, and gave me the VIA driver error, then would not boot correctly after that.
Anyone had this problem, and know how to switch it back, as I am afraid to load all my stuff onto the PC in case it gives me the driver error and I have to reload windows again.
please help.
I am so frustrated :( ,
I can uninstall all the disks, but can't uninstall the scsi hosts and this makes me very....

On my system, I have an onboard Promise ATA100/Raid Controller, that I use for ATA/100. The drives I put on there are picked up as SCSI drives (Windows 2000 sees the ATA100 Controller as a "Mass Storage Device", and thus, SCSI. There's no way to fix it on my system, but it also causes no problems. (my boot drive is not on that controller). )

Could this be the case on your system? If so, then you shouldn't get any errors.

Try upgrading your ATA/100 controller's driver to the newest, and the VIA drivers to their newest. www.viaarena.com

I upgraded to the latest 4in1's, and it fixed itself. Must have been a problem with the drivers on the mobo's driver CD.
thanks.
