Buy they only show how it compares to the DVD-Video standard, not DVD-R.

Does the term "advantages" still include costing twice as much and being sold in volume at few places?

well.since you brought it up.meybey you would do just that.you might also want to add users experience with particular brands,model numbers and software (bundled or purchased )used as well as compatibility with home dvd players.

all of this is of interest to me as i am considering purchasing 1 in the near future and being once bitten(when i bought an hp cd-rw)am reluctant to make a final choice.

i must say that after reading the links i am no more informed as to which is better as i was before,when i didn't know there was a difference.i have read some reviews as i did when i got the cdrw but not knowing who is paying them i would prefere the experience of members here who i know can trust.

thanks,now that link tells me what i need to know.
actually it wasn't really the drive that was bad as it was the writing software.i finally bought oem nero 5.5 and now i can burn format without all the errors.
