Ok heres the deal. ALOT of people are having issues with this card. Well i desided to start another thread on this topic here to get info on Users overclocking experiences with this card.

What im asking is:

On Stock cooling, No mods!
1. The highest Clocks your card will Run stable at through a FULL 3dmark Defualt Run?

2. The higest Clocks that you can Game At least an hour with?

3. Does your card have the Memory Sink holes like this one listed here ->here (http://www.guru3d.com/review/albatron/ti4200p-turbo/img/DSC00836.JPG) ?

4. When do you get artifacts at what clocks?

5. What motherboard, Cpu, Ram, And Power supply are you useing with this card?

6. What are you voltages are temps?

Note: Do not use DRIVER Overclocking (ie. Coolbits), PLEASE take the time and Download Riva Tuner and USe the "LOW Level" Overclocking. Driver Overclocking will not compare to my or other experiences with this card. Low Level Overclocking Actually forces the card to run those speeds, And driver Overclocking Will not Tell you the cards Limits and or Problems Correctly.

I am getting this info together, as im going too be asking Albatron alot of questions, So Please keep this thread Clean and to the point. i will Post more info about this problem in the next day, this is a rusjed thread just to get this Going. So i will add more to it as i get it.
Thanks.

1. The highest Clocks your card will Run stable at through a FULL 3dmark Defualt Run?
282/635 (sucker let's me run a bit higher now. ^_^ was 632)

2. The higest Clocks that you can Game At least an hour with?
same (anything else causes artifacts)

3. Does your card have the Memory Sink holes like this one listed here -> ?
nope

4. When do you get artifacts at what clocks?
287 and up and 640 and up (Games just really REALLY choppy in between 284-287 and 637-640

5. What motherboard, Cpu, Ram, And Power supply are you useing with this card?
GA-7VAX, Corasair PC2700 XMS@149, and Antec 480W TruPower

6. What are you voltages are temps?
Come again. Default uhh voltages, dunno card temp CPU at 33C load.

Hope this helps EDITED

listed where?

okay, thanks

1: it will run 300/650, havnt tested higher yet

2: dont know

3: yes it has the holes (so does that mean mine is the "good" early version?)

4: none yet

5: Abit IT7 Max, P4 2.4b, Corsair XMS3500 C2, Thermaltake 360 watts

6: stock voltage usually, i never go over 1.6 on the cor, 2.6 on the mem, running 163 fsb, temps right now (147 fsb, stock voltage) 25 case, 41 CPU, i think it gets around 65 cpu at my full overclcock

I do use the driver overclock though, when i get a blank cd i will make a boot disk and flash the card bios to run 300/650 default, will also eventually test higher settings on the card to see when i get artifacts.

1. At first I was able to hit 325/710 no problem in 3d Mark or anything...

2. Same as above.

3. My ram sinks do not have the holes in the middle.. whats the difference??

4. I never used to get artifacts running at 325/710.. Anything higher I guess I would start... but now, running even at stock speeds, I am getting artifacts in every game, even in windows kinda... I think I burnt out the ram somehow.. and I only oced it for a few days then went back to stock..

5. AMD XP2400, Epox 8K9A, OCZ 256 PC3500EL, Enermax 450watt.

6. Right now all voltages are at stock..

*** I never noticed any of these artifacts until after I took off the stock sinks, and added Tweak Monsters, and took off the core HS, and added some AS3... I am not sure if something went wrong when I did this, or that is just a co-insidence?? (sp)

Let me know if anyone has any ideas.. I gonna try and get the tweak monsters off and put the stock sinks back on, and try to RMA it... I am not gonna hold my breath.. :(

why would you RMA it? where's our eithical overclockers at?

what do you mean why would I RMA it? It doesn't work right, and it still has a warrenty.... They claim it can do Ti4600 speeds, so they obviously support people overclocking the card... It's not like I ran the card at those speeds all the time either. It was a case of upping it a bit at a time, then trying it out to see if it would work, once I got to the point it wouldn't work right I went back down to stock...

you physically modified the card, that goes a bit farther than just overclocking it and I'm sure if they were aware of that they wouldn't let you return it, but then again, maybe im wrong.

i have a Q. i just bought 1, it'll come in a few days. do the 2nd batches stink? i'd rather pay little more for a 9500 w/ dx9 then get ripped off and a crappy 2nd batch of great cards.

and why should i use riva tuner over coolbits? just curious...

Mike Coles

Use Riva Tuner cause its the best OCing program for Video Cards by far.. Gives you more options then any other program..

I did alter the card... but it wasn't for the worse.. It was for the best.. I mean adding Tweak Monsters could only help.. Unless the process is what killed it.. Either way... Who said being an overclocker meant you cannot screw over large companys that have a ton of money??

If anything, being an ocer I have learned more ways to return things if they blow up...

I don't want to spam your thread or anything (sorry Dissolved), but I have to disagree with the above statement. Anything above the default clock speeds of the TURBO is deemed overclocking and Albatron does not warranty for that. Even if they did, they would never warranty for third-party ramsinks.

If they didn't support overclocking then why do they advertise that card as "Ti4200 prices with Ti4600 speeds" Which means that it should be able to hit atleast what a Ti4600 is at stock.. And the Ti4200P comes stock way less then that.. So, maybe they do not support the overclocking of it, but are saying you can acheive those speeds, or they are saying overclock away... Either way, its a false claim with my card...

Of course they wouldn't take my card back with 3rd party ram sinks, thats why I said I can take them off and put the stock ones back on...

1. 305.1/648
2. Same
3. Yes it has the holes
4. 300.4/661.5
5. See signature
6. Stock Voltages, 32C/47C idle
7. Got it from Newegg last week

I could probably get it higher but RivaTuner is retarted (or it may be me) and keeps changing the clocks I set it to slightly. I try setting it a few Mhz higher and when I hit apply, it brings it back down to a decimal number. Then if I set it a little too high, it brings it UP to a decimal number.

Anyone know what the deal is?

Thats what happeneds, its suppose to do so. Thats low level overclocking.. right click on the low level over clocking in riva tuner and read the help popup.

Actually, my card doesn't have the holes in the ram sinks... does that make a difference?

I think one was Samsung, which is what I have, and I thought that would be fine.. and the other was Winbond, but I maybe wrong.. Please give me more info.... thanks.
