Ever since removing the TIM on my ThermoEngine my temps were about as high as my standard HSF. So giving up with thermal paste I obtained a replacement TIM, still the same temps.
Removing the HSF showed the ThermoEngine to be seated slightly askew. After 3 attempts it still wasn't level, then crack, the clip snaps followed by a slight crunch. Yep, chipped core at least the CPU still works.
Call me Lucky it might work. :(
