how to get a heatsink off a cpu?

As you can tell I'm a newbie but what is the best and safest way to get the heatsink off a cpu?

if you mean the Retail sink and that darn tight clip, I recommend a small set of needle nose pliars and a flat screw driver.

Play with it a bit........carefully tho.....and you'll see it's not impossible.
