hi guys, i will get an Asus V8460 GeForce4 Ti4600 and i am wondering if i will get more if i remove the paste and apply artic silver on the gpu..

Hi, be very careful to put SUFFICIENT paste as for getting enough contact. GPUs tend to be not as smooth as CPUs these days...
In my case, and after 1st application (too thin layer), mine was making much worst contact to HSF.. had to redo the work.

to johnny K.: dude i don't wanna pay for alumina since i am gonna use it only for the gpu, but u think A.S. will be better than the default medium??

I use Arctic Silver on my GPUs. I don't know exactly how much it helps, but it is certainly a little better than silicon based thermal paste.

Artic Silver should work no problem, but I would use Artic Alumina. It is better for video cards, but Artic Silver will work and I'm sure its better than the junk the manufacturer puts on.
