Help with setting up a FTP server please

Ok I want to have a FTP server installed on my computer through LAN, I've installed serve-u FTP 4.1, but I've got one small problem, when I go into help to get my IP it only says "192.168.0.2" how am I going to make the FTP accesable from the internet ? It connects to the net though a gateway with ICS.

ok you need to find out your external IP www.ipchicken.com will do that. then you need to setup your router or gateway to forward the port (usually 21) to your ip address 192.168.0.2

then it should work, give people your external IP and they should be able to connect.

I'm just putting it upon my main computer that ahs direct access to the net and I'm have the dir on my remote computer :), isa there a way I'd be able to make this thing autmated ? like once the files are done uplaoding to my remote computer can i have them automaticly uploaded by a program to my http web space ?
