Ok, I've been bitten by the bug. With all of this talk about farming, I've gotten the urge to build a diskless one. There is only one problem. I want to build a fairly cheap one, but good. I know the most expensive part will be the MBD's and Processors. My question is, are those BIOStar decent enough to run it? I believe the YattaMonster is running on those and hasn't any problems. Well, I guess I really need links to places for me to buy the stuff. It's going to have to be a slow process though, I got bills and stuff. Also, is it recommended to keep all the same hardware in the nodes, or can different MBD's work in the node? Ok, enough of my rambling. I was just wondering.

Biostar rocks! I know, they're "value" boards and whatever but they are 1.Cheap 2. Stable 3. OC-able! I have owned THREE biostars in the past and they work great. They still work, too :D

I have 2 Biostar motherboards (the Intel Tualatin variety) and I have not had any problems with mine. They are overclockable (FSB only), stable, etc. Mine are in a wood case with PS and HD.

I found a SHUTTLE MK32N vendor which was $61 shipped. Check pricewatch. Onboard everything. DDR.

On the subject of using a variety of boards; I have found it much easier to maintain my farm with as little variety as possible. Make troubleshooting and the learning curve much easier.:)

You folks against the Neweggrefurbs? If not go there and get a mobo for a little as 25 shipped. Abit, Epox, Asus etc all the popular models.
