View Full Version : AS2 gave me better temp than AS3
AS2 gave me 1c lower temp than AS3, when I switched to AS3 I did give it a thorough burn in for a few weeks, but I was never able to get down to same temp I got with AS2. Anyone else here got worse performance with AS3?

when you went from the as2 to as3 did you re-lap and clean the heatsink? maybe it is just the mounting might have been slightly better when you were using as2. also remember that your temperatures are highly dependent on the ambient temperatures so that could make a difference... there are a lot of things to consider... personally, i really wouldn't worry about a small 1 C change... it's not that much of a difference...
To get the lowest temperatures you need a very flat and clean surface, proper mounting etc. I believe there is far more variation in user handling of the equipment than actual heatconductivity between as2 and as3. A measurement of 1 C difference does not at all sound significant to me.
Maybe if you tilt your computer 5 degrees to the left you'll get your 1C back ;)
