How do I test a peltier?

I bought a lot of stuff from eBay and it came with a peltier. I'm not going to use it but how could I test it so that I could sell it? Also, is there any way how to tell the wattage of it? He said it is either 55W or 65W? And how much do they usually go for?

there are complecated formulas for figuring out the wattage, but if you want to know if it works, just hold it between your thumb and pointer and put some power to it, but not for long you don;t want to fry it. The hot side will get hot, the cold side will get cold.

As for selling it, if it's only 55w or 65w don't bother those sell for less than 20 USD so unless you are broke don't do it. besides you could use it to cool and old amd k6-2/3, right? i have known those to give decant overclocks.

I'm not broke, but I don't need it so I figured someone else might be able to use it. I wasn't expecting it to go for any more than $10.
