fresh install win2kpro has garbled desktop

i was installing win2kpro on my friends pc last night. all was going smoothly until the install was finished, when we went into desktop, all was garbled, not even readable. i was thinking it might be a vid card driver problem coz he was using a tnt2. what do u guys think?

his specs include: p/// 866, asuscuv4x, 256pc133, tnt2, cmi soundcard.

Hmm, nvidia card, shouldnt be a prob in win2k even w/o the proper drivers..
i have seen this b4, install the directX 8 then install the proper nvidia drivers, 30.82s im using, the newer 40.xx's give my ti4200 problems..

yeah an nvidia card. shouldnt be a prob. i guess i should stick to 98se.

Did you try x1xBugsBunnyx1x's suggestion of reinstalling the drivers after Direct-X is installed? I was warned by nVidia to do the same thing when I first installed my TNT2 card.

Reinstall Latest drivers. My TNT2 works in XP.
