So...far....
after a hour of burn in.
I have it at 2.4ghz stock voltage I think its stable, I will keep posting updates as I raise the speed.
Stock voltage on my board is 1.47v-1.5
1.47 under load and 1.5idle
this processor is 1.525stock
so I have a undervolter =)
I will post updates....
for now...peace

I just reboot after half hour of stress testing and I jacked it up some more....
its at
2.62ghz@1.575 BIOS
its real voltage is
1.5v under load and 1.53v idle.
so good so far....

Pretty nice already for simply being at 1.5v. Nice. I think this may be my next CPU sometime next year.

LOL I couldnt wait a half an hour to try some more.
here are the latest results...
I just rebooted into 2.71@1.6v idle and 1.55v under load
CRASH after 5mins of stress testing, gonna reboot and try a hint more of Voltage

well, dissapointed I am! damnit!
right now its stable at 2.71 @ 1.68v idle 1.62v under load.
DAMNIT!
maybe I should take it back and exchange it, I have 2 more to try out if they will let me do that.
I am gonna push its clock higher once I verify this is stable.
I tried 2.9ghz straight out, wouldnt post at 1.7v actual chip voltage.
BOOOOOOOOO!
once again, mines a week 42 from malaysia.

Well hell, 2.71 out of a 1.8 still ain't bad!:)

Well, that looks like its my C1's max stable within limits of voltage clock.
FREIKIN SUX
I am ****ed off....
I am gonna try and exchange it for another tomorrow.
I will let you all know my status then hehe
What Mobo are you using, and which PC Club had the CPUs?
steve
Just a note to the thread started: the voltage is regulated by the motherboard and not by the CPU. So if one CPU is undervolted in your system then all will be.

I am using EPOX 4PEA+
I bought it at the pcclub in PHX, AZ, USA
ARGH...me ****ed
my final settings are........
2.71ghz@1.65v idle
Amd, Arrowhead, Bethany home, or Ahwatukee? I called 2 of them, and the guys on the phone, sounded like they haven't gotten out of Middle school. " What's a C-1, AMD?" No, it's intel.
There's 3 of them in Phx. and 2 more in the East valley.

I got mine at arrowhead, they have 3 left all 3 of them are week 42's
you guys think the week number has anything to do with overclocking...I mean if its the same week, are they all gonna clock the same?

Won't be very different.
I also think 2.71 for a 1.8 is not at all shabby

maybe, maybe not.
all I can say is it's always luck of the draw.
btw...2.7ghz at 1.65v is not that bad.
I have said before that I didn't think the C1 1.8a's that make it to retail, will do as well as the dell chips.
I hope that I will be wrong in the end...yet it's starting to look bad.
C1 has never looked like a better OCer to me. no matter what cpu we are talking about.
I wish you the best of luck in what ever you do.

Thats still a good OC and you paid a lot less than a 2.8 costs I am sure, your overall performance will also be better as the FSB is higher than a 2.8....:D
formosian's was an Malay.
amdking, what is yours?

Boah only 900Mhz!!! And that on a chip that costs as much as $130 omg! Straight back to Intel with that POS chip!

WELL....
I took my chip back today for an exchange. I got another one same exact week and everything, didnt think it would offer anything more but gave it a shot anyways.
I said, screw burnin in and just go ahead and overclock it at bootup
first shot, it actually boot at 2.8ghz at default voltage.
crashed when loading windows...uped voltage to 1.6v
crashed after using windows for 4minutes
finally I have it steady right now for bout 15minutes in windows doing stabillity tests....
2.8ghz@1.68v idle and 1.63v load.
not bad not bad, got 100mhz more out of it so far...then my other C1.

I just tried two C1 stepping P4 1.8's from Dell systems and neither one would run stable at 3GHz. One of them would barely run stable at 2.7 GHz with 1.7v (BIOS setting) and the other one would do 2.88 GHz with about 1.65v. These were consecutive serail#'s from Malaysia/week 44 (Q244A446-0xxx).
These 1.8's will now have to live an easy life in their original Dell sytems running at 2.4 GHz.

I'm off to a local computer shop to pick up a C1 stepping P4 2 GHz. Hopefully it will do better than the two 1.8's I just tried.
If not, I'll probably just stick it into one of the Dell systems and just run it at 2.66 GHZ (at least hopefully it will go at least that high on default voltage).
dunno a lot much about intel cpus but seems that they dont overclock as much as higher ones because of the cpu quality itself. Maybe a 2.26 one can hit 3Ghz stable on air. And 1.7v is ok, as long as you keep it there, am i wrong?

2.7 aint bad but i know what yore thinkin IWANT 3 GIGS When i get my 2.4 if it run over 3.0 im gonna act real juvenile, kick and scream and chew on the corner of the carpet.
