I got about 6 VERY LOUD fans going in my case, including 2 deltas (38 cfm ones). Is there a way to silence them? I've heard of people using Dynamat sound deadening stuff. Does this work? Mostly the noise is the air movement since of the deltas, two 120 mm going @ 108 cfm, 1 60 mm fan going @ 38 cfm and a 80 mm fan going @ 50 cfm. It's sooo loud I can't even hear the phone ring.

you could always reduce the voltage however you will loose some airflow

Unless you get big slow fans. Much of a fan's noise is from the 'ripping' of air as they are accelerated from rest by the fan blades. The faster the spin rate and the thicker a fan (determines how big a 'slice' of air each rpm) the noisier it is. Some say ball bearing fans are noisier than sleeve bearings. Don't forget the vibration of a fan that will clatter it against a heatsink or case plate it's mounted on -insulate with rubber grommets or silicone sealant.

Look in the tips section under HSF reviews and find the delta silicone trick i cant even tell you how much more quieter it made my Delta38 also it will work for case fans to but it will take a little work but its definatly better then leaving them the way there are.
