Can anyone tell me what temps the AMD Tbird 1.33 AYHJA is supposed to run at normally in Celsius(no overclock) I'm using a dynatron hsf with no copper base and it still seems kinda hot(58c load) Is it possible to drop the voltage down and still run at 1.33?
My brother has the same chip, except it's AXIA. I believe this was the hottest chip AMD made. My 1.4 t-bird put out less heat. 55 load was common with the thing. Try lowering the voltage, that should help with the heat. It won't hurt to try it.
Otherwise, get something big and copper. The Alpha 8045 helped a ton!
PS - Delete the other identical thread. I think you accidentally double posted. (Think? Heck, you did... )

I tried to but was denied access to that feature for some reason,I checked the delete box, hit the delete button and:mad:
It's okay. Just pm a mod to come and delete it, or use the the "Report this thread to a moderator (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/report.php?s=&postid=1296151)" function, and they'll come and tidy up.
I have one, also an AXIA and it runs hot, the reason its not overclocked, The 1.33 and 1.4Ghz T-birds are the hottest cpu's around.

AXIA CPUs run hot?
hmm, interesting, mine seems to run fine even with a 50% overclock and I'm running way over 2Volts and all I'm cooling with is some industrial thermal compound and a Volcano 7+

Well, mine was running at 60c, then got a new case and now down to 42c, oc'ed ~ 1500mhz @ 1.85v...... But today i was reinstalling my heat synk, and cracked part of the die off.... now it doesnt work at all :( oh well... time to up-grade to an XP any ways..

I have a 1.4@1.622 @1.85v and it never gets over about 56C. This is with an alpha pal6035

Before my AYHJA decided to die, it ran very hot. Full load temps on it never reached 60 C but they were always in the 50s.
yeah these chips run real hot. I bought one for my girlfriends computer but I would get random rboots and whatnot with the stock heatsink. her case has terrible airflow and her room is always boiling. So i gave her my old duron 1200 and toolk that chip for myself. I have it running @ 44c underload @ 1530. case ventilation is extremely importand with these chips as they do run really hot for their die size. If you don't get reboots or bsod's then your probably okay but cooler is always better.

oc-master you of all people should know that the thermal output of the 1.33 and 1.4ghz t/bird are amoung the highest of ANY amd processor to date, including the xp2800+

How long did your cpu run for and was it overclocked when it died? I've dropped my voltage down to 1.6v and it appears to be running a little cooler.I've got a Enlight 7237 with 2 case fans so my case is running preety cool(28c)

It supposed to run hot but it to runs cool if properly cooled. All of AMD's Athlon processors were far within specs to be able to be maintained without the need of high end cooling.
Most boxed PCs run around 60C max load on hot days which is really high in the cooling realms. Most people start to get scared at the 50c Mark. Me, I feel safe as long as I'm under 60c.
T-bred Bs should run way cooler than the T-birds thou :) even with 30%+ clock speeds over those birds.
Yeah yeah, I know my AXIA runs hot but no where near as hot as a 3.06GHz Pentium4 !

lol yeah i know. just for a comparison - a 1.4ghz t/bird puts out 72watts of heat. Thats more even that a 2600+ (68.3 watts), or a 2.8ghz p4 (68.4) according to this chart:
http://users.erols.com/chare/elec.htm
wow! look at a 1ghz itaniumII - 130watts!!!!!. Also the same as the 744 ItaniumII with 4mb cache.

Mine is Tbird 1333@1500 at 1.7v.
Running at 47-48 (normal use) , and 52-53C (load) using thermal probe (rather than mb's thermistor which is usually 5C cooler).
This is on the tropics where hottest daily temperature can be 33C.
