5 BSODs today ! That wouldn't have bothered me if it happened in Win98 or Me or something else, but in Win2k ?? So, anyone knows what could cause those reboots/BSODs/STOPs ? up to now, the errors I've seen were IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, and something else can't remember. Any ideas ? I,ve removed one of my ram sticks, that I think is bad (ouch, now there's only 128MB left)
sounds like a memory problem...try switching them around like you have done

the only time i have ever seen that BSOD was when i was finding my sweet spot for OCing and sometimes i would push the RAM too high (i am at 192, anythinf higher and i will get that bsod), other than that, i have never had a crash or BSOD.

IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
i have seen this alot when running WHISTLER, adaptec ez cd & adobe acrobat where both causes of it in whistler & later in XP with the Adaptec EZ cd till adaptec (roxio) came up w a fix..
Maybe the issue is SW as most puters will catch the bad stick of ram during post before the O/S loads forcing you into system setup util..

Well, full day with only 124MB of ram (system sees them as 124, cuz 4 MB are used for onboard memory that I don't even use). Anyways, no crash, no error, no nothing. It's slow as hell but rock steady lol

OK, update : I tried the 64 MB of ram again, this time in a different slot, it worked for some time, then (about five minutes ago) I got this error :
Unexpected_Kernel_Mode_Trap
I guess it's pretty obvious that it's the ram stick (too many errors with it in, not enough (none) without it, and too many errors that point or have as relation the memory).

Update : I found out my ram stick was bad .... cept I didn'T find out the right one  my stick of 64MB is good, it's the 128 that's bad :( So I'm using right now Win2k rock-stable turtle-slow with 64MB of ram

OK, new update : something's FUBAR . I mean, the RAM's not the problem, even with 64MB of good ram, it still crashed. Now I'm starting to wonder if it isn't a problem caused by the mobo ..... the RAM is good, I've tested it in another rig. Still, it crashes ... Any ideas ? Now I'm getting really ****ed, I mean I come home to find the mofo BSODed (not even 5 hours of uptime, even Windows ME can beat that lol)

only times i get bsod in w2kpro is memery issues or cpu issues.
look at the temps, mem timings, vcore, fsb settings.
have u tried relaxing the timings?
heat on the cpu can couse this also.clean dirt and dust off hs.
can also raise the vdimm valtage a tad.
if its fsb oced try backing it down.
just a few suggestions.

I'm not OCed, I have no voltage ajustements (except for vcore), and everything is at default. I'll try cleaning it up thouhg, thanks ! :)

Have you tried other sticks of RAM besides the 128 and 64mb ones you have?

i get those if i use all three slots or slots 1 and 2.i can only run 2 sticks in 1 and 3 without errors.

Well I know a lot of DDR boards will only allow you to use slot3 if you used a single sided DIMM.

Could heat cause these lockups ? I just cleaned up the HSF, cleaned off the thermal paste, applied some new, installed everything back, and I haven't locked up since then. And that's with all the memory in and all ... btw, I donno what my temps are on this comp, it has no thermal sensors whatsoever

OK, I washed the HS (actually washed, with water and ..... water lol), and it made miracles ! not a single crash since then ! I reapplied my cheap generic Radio Shack thermal paste, now it works ! :)
