I have recently put together a new system and used my harddrive from my old system . The hard drive is a ultra dma 100 westren digital 40 gig.
it was used with ultra 66 only including formating, fdisk and such. my new system is a A7V with ultra dma 100 support. I have tried to install the hard drive to the ultra 100 dma connector and use my 2 cd roms on the second ide controller. It will not boot up. I have tried everthing including just hooking the hard drive up to the dma 100 connector(no go, won't boot) I have my cable's , jumpers, and everything set right and do not know what else to do. I was almost thinking about reformatting using the dma 100 connector,, WOULD THIS HELP?? It does find the hard drive when trying to boot so?
