have you tried jiggling the wires in the back? I'm not sure whats going on but my old 17"(just retired) would scramble and such until i messed with the video cable in the back. Something on the inside of my monitor is loose. its random though. Probably not whats going on with yours though. Just a thought.

yeah i dont think its the monitor anymore cause i can "giggle" the hell outta it and it doesnt go away/doesnt cause it, and when its in this F'd up mode i cant boot into windows so its gotta be hardware related, no the ? is, is it the AGP slot on the MoBo or the GPU thats causeing it, the card is in good and tight i try wiggleing it when the screen is messed and it has no effect, now it seems to be luck of the draw if it happends or not, i jsut rebooted 5 times and nothing then the last time messed up again

Can you try another AGP card to see if the problem is consistent, or put you video card into another computer and see if it keeps doing it?
