when i put together my computer i didn't have the money for good name brand memory so i had to suffer with 256mb. of generic pc2100 at first i didn't have any problems with it at all.. seemed to run much better then old sdram.. but when i started overclocking my xp1800+ i found i couldn't get my fsb over 146 i'm told this is because of weak memory which wouldn't surprise me!!

Since your RAM is pc2100, its only technically rated from 133 FSB. If you were to get pc2700, it would be rated for 166 FSB.
That said, I think the name brands really matter in the case of RAM. Corsair, Crucial, and Samsung are probably amoung the best.

I think i may go with some Corsair XMS series... probably pc2700 but maybe pc3200 if i have some extra money to blow after x-mas :)
