I Hate Orinoco

I cant stand orinoco anymore...it's so unreliable and it blocks everything I want to do. my download/upload speed has reduced about 60% because of this hardware...

I was wondering what was the best way to network 3 computers to a cable modem with the maximum features to unlock firewalls/etc anything that wont bring me down..i want it as if my cable was directly plugged into my network card, something similar to this..so it doesnt block all my features. is there anyway i can do that?

You're using Orinocco wireless? Do you have any kind of encryption turned on? Why not just disable all of that so you can get the full rated speed?

If you don't need it, you should bypass your external firewall and go direct from cable modem to your computer. Just set up your computer with the latest security patches and keep NetBIOS disabled if you run Windows.

yakbak...i dont want to get rid of this..well i do but i want to still have networked and shared internet access.

Have you tried looking around in the properties of the wireless card? What OS are you running? What drivers are you using?
