anyone know how to remove the top moveable part of a socket a socket.

Why? If you happen to have broken a side lug off, they are part of the base.

i looking to seal the base of the socket with silicone for condensation prevention and the moveable part is in the way.

Their is an article on the front page about socket sealing that tells you how to romove the top part. I think you pull the CAM out, but don't hold me to that.

You don't necessarily have to remove the top. I took some silicone and placed it on cardboard, and used a toothpick to carefully place the silicone beneath the moving parts. Got a tight seal and didn't gum it up.
