Help i still can't set fsb to 133Mhz. I have an MSI KT3 ultra2,
1800+ cpu locked,pc2100 mem. cheap TNT v.c.,
When iset to 133 it reboots and or crashes, specially when gaming. at 100Mhz it runs great...What gives?
Using stock HSF and psf, no extra cooling, temps are,
50c idle , 58c load when at 133Mhz....

Might either be your temps as 58C is pretty much HOT or check the motherboard for a jumper to switch it from 100 (Duron) to 133 (Athlon).
Is there a jumper for that MSI mobo that you know of? The coolest, nothing in my manual...

I'm not really sure. I think it might be heat related. I don't have, and never had an Althon MSI board. but have worked w/ a Gigabyte mobo, and it had a jumper for 100/133/166 FSBs I think you should post in the mobo section->MSI mobo's
You should also look into lowering that temp and see if that helps. if it does, then the problem is the temps are too high and cause the system to crash
Thanx the Coolest will post there now....

i agree the temps are way to hot. if my cpu hits 48c it crashes. lol

58C is hot but as a comparison what temps does it reach when set at 100FSB? Also it maybe possible that the TNT2 is holding you back or the PC2100 you have.

In most cases, heat will stop you from getting a higher overclock, but if it's stable it's stable... I've taken my chip to 61C before, and as long as it got the right voltage it didn't crash. Heat usually isn't going to crash a computer til you get to about 65C I say it's a jumper or dip switch thing, look on your mobo for a set of dip switches or 3-5 jumpers in a row... and try to get a mobo manual... that will tell you exactly what to do. Most mobos have a jumper to activate certain FSB's and to take multipliers down a notch... (usually in steps and giving access to 100-132, 133-165, 166+)
OC Detective, at 100 Mhz the temps are 45c idle/51c load.
So maybe TNT or Ram eh?
Thanx
ChillPhatCat! the manual i have shows no jumper switches..
Are you familiar with this mobo? MSI KT3 ultra2 no raid...
comeback!
Hey all, just fixed the problem,my HSF was on backwards lol,
thanx for all the input....
