well id suggest deciding between the 1800 tbred and 2400.
oc that video card and it will run most games very nicley.

will the ecs run a 2400?im not sure is why i ask.
but both do good.
1800 tbred $70
2400 $190+
is the extra 300-400 mhz worth $120 to you?
i dont think u will notice a speed differance much between the 2.

but to answer your question.id take the 2400 over the 1600 even with the price considered.

Hopefully in 2 months the Rev B tbred will be out. They'll o/c better than the current Rev As.
I'm waiting for the Rev B tbreds to come out before I buy another cpu.

I just upgraded to the 2400 from an athlon thunderbird 1g. I havn't tried any other athlon xps before but It has been running nice and cool so far, and I did O/C it 100mhz yesterday and it didn't effecct the temps at all. I did try bootin it up at 2200mhz and it did boot; however, i have a feeling that 2200mhz drops my voltage too low for my power supply voltage numbers drop too much at 2200 in bios, if it were to start loading windows it would reboot due to the voltage drop er somethin,... if i had a better power supply i could tell you more. I'm positive it does better with a better power supply though, maybe a slight increase in the voltage.

It is cool however at 2100 mhz it beats the p4 2.8 in the drystone by more than it loses to it in the whetstone. I don't know if this means its better overall but it sure is a close match. Of course you can most likely get at least 2200 out of it with a good setup and that would put you up there close to the xp 2800's. Its a good chip, if you have the cash, either get it or wait and get the next best thing when it comes out, if your gonna wait for the next best thing to get cheap... you might be waiting awhile.
