Unfortunately when you deal with DIVX and compression the results are usually horrible. You can compress the DIVX to make it fit in the specified lenght, however the sacrafice will be huge and you will suffer image quality and performance. Even a minor amount of compression usually results in major video quality loss...

there are some folks here that might have a practical solution, check it out...

yes, but are they the right answers...

I know it can't be done with Nero, or at least I haven't heard of anyone donig it yet, but you could try getting hold of some 900MB CD's and try to overburn...

You can download software to convert from DIVX to VCD for free, VCD will allow you to play movies in a stand alone DVD as well as on your computer and it will compress the DIVX to fit on a regular CD-R, however the picture quality tends to be only as good as medium qaulity VHS tapes. If you have the CD-R's to spare I recommend using SVCD, it is the same format just higher quality and much like video tape(the better the quality the less recording length), so you could split your larger movies between 2 CD's, sort of like your own personal Boxed Sets.

That link I sent will help explain about how to do this...

Well VCD can look pretty nice if 3-Pass VBR is used and Telecide interlace. VCD can store 80mins worth of video wich is what i would use in this case, SVCD generally looks better but the downside is it can only store 60mins so 2 cd's would probably be needed were as VCD would probably fit it on 1.

Try out TmpGENC its prerry good and there is a free version available although the PLus version is a bit better.

I overburn every now and then, actually. The average 700MB CD can be overburnt about 5MB to 8MB.

There is the risk of corrupted data, however, so make sure to check the 'check for corruption' box in the Nero progress window.
